MAA 726F a 1967 Ford Anglia 105E Estate.
Bought from a local garage by David Steel, now Lord Steel of Aikwood, with the intention of running it in the Trans Africa Rally. After the car had been prepared the rally was cancelled so instead it was entered in the modified class of the 1992 Monte Carlo Challenge.
The next trip out was the 1997 Peking to Paris in the hands of new owner Nigel Broderick. The car was extensively modified for the gruelling 10,000 mile trip.
The engine was uprated to a 1600cc cross flow, with a Cosworth 5 speed box. The rear axle was standard but with Quaife fully floating shafts.
The car finished winning the 2 litre class, 3rd in the "classics" and 6th overall.
